Spring / Kooanga 2022
Kiaora tatou
The year is quickly coming to an end & we continue to provide services and activities supporting this community. Recently we initiated a project for a group of At-Risk young people. This project is one of several that we have supported focussing on youth this year including Youth Jewellery-making Workshops and the ongoing Kickboxing4Youth program. As Christmas quickly approaches the stress of this time of the year can negatively impact many whanau. Our services including Low-cost Counselling and Free Budgeting may help. Contact us for more information.
We are partaking in a Climate Response Programme for Waikato Community Organisations. A new initiative this will look at the impact of our mahi on the environment and ties in with one of our Key Strategic Priorities ‘Working Sustainably’. We have also continued to support Manawhenua, especially our regular pakeke and kaumatua visitors, whether for a kawakawa and a korero, or some more involved help, it is great to tautoko enei taonga who share with us their stories from Whaaingaroa/Raglan’s past.
Once again I wish to thank the many volunteers who gift their time and energy to positive community causes. For us, it’s volunteering on our Governance Board, Lounge Hosts & Op Shop. But also the Volunteers driving for the Raglan Health Transport Service & Community Patrol.
Nga mihi Mike.
